Todd Perreira for Treasurer

Friends and colleagues, I am running for the position of Treasurer. Many of you know me as the Humanities Department Lecturer Representative to the CFA Executive Board at SJSU (2017- 2022) where I also served on the Elections Committee and aided in annual membership drives. In 2024 I took a stand in solidarity with the systemwide strike that helped secure a tentative bargaining agreement winning faculty a retroactive 5% salary increase, 10-week parental leave guarantee, and higher salary floors for our lowest paid lecturers. I have worked at SJSU for 24 years so I’m very familiar with long-term concerns like cost-of-living wage gaps that undervalue and overwork faculty. I’m also concerned about rapidly evolving AI practices that are re-shaping the wider University ecosystem and the need for clear policies and faculty support. I have experience in serving mid-sized non-profit performing arts organizations and small business financial planning and analysis that will serve me well in the position of Treasurer, a position I would be honored to perform in service to the greater goals of our plucky and indefatigable union.
