Alecia Henderson for Lecturers Representative

I am running for re-election as Lecturer Representative so that I may continue to serve the lecturers at SJSU, as well as the entire faculty, through my support and advocacy of our contract. It has been an honor to serve in this role for the past 3 years, and I have developed an even deeper understanding and appreciation for the role of our union. It is the strength of the membership that continues to ensure that SJSU remains a premiere place to work.

As your Lecturer Representative, I have assisted lecturers with informational workshops, provided direct support for individuals with specific concerns, and represented lecturers in meetings with administration. In addition, I have supported the larger academic community both on the SJSU campus and at the state level through my participation in the CFA Assembly. There are many areas that deserve focused attention in the years to come, and I am particularly interested in preserving our benefits, establishing a reasonable AI framework for the CSU, and ensuring freedom of speech in the academic area.
